Universal Works began at a kitchen table in 2009, when David Keyte set out to make honest clothing that fits well and is never overdone. The Nottingham label grew out of his 1970s Midlands childhood, in a working-class family that loved to dress well. The short Watch cap keeps that spirit: a close-fitting knitted hat with a folded cuff, made from British wool, sitting just above the ears.
